L-4 Media Update: ULA Atlas V Lucy Mission Set to Launch Oct. 16

Everything is progressing toward the ULA Atlas V launch carrying the Lucy mission for NASA. The mission is planned to lift off on Sat., Oct. 16 at 5:34 a.m. EDT from Space Launch Complex-41 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. Today’s forecast shows a 90 percent chance of favorable weather conditions for launch.

Remote Camera Set Up and Launch
Credentialed media approved to set remote cameras on SLC-41 should meet at the NASA Press Site no later than 8 a.m. EDT on Fri., Oct. 15.
Credentialed media covering launch can arrive at the NASA Press Site starting at 2:30 a.m. EDT on Sat., Oct. 16.

MEDIA ONLY Countdown Audio
The Countdown will be available to media via an audio dial in line which will be accessible to media beginning at 3 a.m. EDT, Oct. 16. The lines will end with the conclusion of the broadcast. The Countdown Audio line will include Channel 1 pre-launch and Channel 2 post launch. In the event of an anomaly, the audio lines will be discontinued. This line is not open to the public, it is for media access only.
